# Decisions to validate & brainstorming worksheet

This is the working document for the meeting. Section 1 = decisions we need locked. Section 2 = open questions we want to brainstorm together.

---

## 1. Decisions ADVMFR must validate

### 1.1 — UK English systematic ✅ recommended
**Decision needed:** confirm that the entire site uses UK English spelling (`jewellery`, `colour`, `centre`, `customise`) in H1, title, meta, URL slugs and primary body copy.

**Why we recommend YES:**
- Mangools shows the UK SERP is structurally under-competitive vs US on identical-volume keywords (KD 15 vs KD 41 on `custom jewellery manufacturer`).
- Audience geography supports it (UK, EU, Asia, India, Australia).
- The current site already uses `jewellery` — zero migration cost.

**Trade-off if we say NO:** we either go US English (harder SERPs, weaker arbitrage) or mix spellings (Google may pick the wrong primary spelling — fragmented authority).

**Discussion question:** any constraint we don't know about? (e.g., US trade fairs requiring US English in collateral, US client expectations?)

---

### 1.2 — Real MOQ ranges and lead times (blocking)
**Data we need from ADVMFR sales team:**
- MOQ for stock alloys, per category (rings / earrings / bracelets / chains / necklaces).
- MOQ for custom alloys / OEM, per category.
- Sample lead time (we have placeholder "2 weeks").
- Bulk production lead time (we have placeholder "4–8 weeks").
- Payment terms accepted (we have placeholder "30/70 TT, LC").
- Shipping incoterms available (we have placeholder "EXW, FOB Bangkok, CIF, DDP").

**Why blocking:** `/wholesale-suppliers/` Section 4 and `/oem-jewellery-manufacturer/` Section "MOQ & lead times" cannot be written with placeholders that go live. These are the #1 and #2 questions B2B buyers scroll to first.

---

### 1.3 — CAD/CAM software actually used (enrichment, not blocking)
**Data we need from ADVMFR design team:**
- Which CAD/CAM packages are used in production? (Common candidates: Matrix, Rhino + Grasshopper, ZBrush, JewelCAD Pro, RhinoGold, 3Design).
- Are 3D printing operations in-house or outsourced? (DLP, SLA, wax printer brands).

**Why it matters:** unlocks long-tail queries like `matrix jewellery cad service`, `rhino jewellery design service` on `/design-development/`. Each adds incremental commercial intent capture with zero competitive cost.

---

### 1.4 — Confirm `trends-2027` publish deadline 15 September 2026
**Decision:** is 15 September 2026 a realistic publication date for the flagship trends article?

**Why hard-locked:** the search peak for `jewellery trends 2027` runs October to early December 2026. Publishing after 15 September means the wave is breaking before Google has indexed the article. Missing one year means re-running the experiment 12 months later.

**Trade-off:** if the deadline is unrealistic, we pivot the flagship to `industry-report` (no seasonal deadline) and accept losing the trends-wave for 2027.

---

### 1.5 — Marketing collateral inventory
**Inventory we need access to:**
- Existing line sheets (PDF).
- Capabilities deck (if exists).
- High-resolution factory photos (atelier, machines, craftspeople).
- High-resolution product photos by category.
- Approved client logos for case-study cards (NDA-cleared list).
- Trade fair stand photos from 2025–2026.
- Any existing video content (factory tour, process, interviews).

**Why:** hero sections, gallery, schema `ImageObject`, and lead-magnet PDFs all depend on real first-party assets. Stock photography destroys both the trust signal and the Google EEAT signal.

---

### 1.6 — Heritage story confirmation
**Items to confirm or correct:**
- Founded 1989, family-run — confirm date.
- Original joint venture with Friedrich Zettl GmbH (Pforzheim, Germany) — confirm we may keep this mention publicly.
- 400+ employees — confirm current headcount.
- 3M pieces/year — confirm current capacity.
- RJC certification — confirm certification number + scope, and ALL other certifications (Sedex? BSCI? ISO? GIA?).
- Factory address geo-coords: 13.778318, 100.787995 — confirm.

**Why:** every one of these numbers goes into schema, hero sections, "About us" page, trust strips. A wrong number we publish becomes a Google fact in 4 weeks.

---

## 2. Brainstorming — open questions we want to explore together

These don't have a single right answer. We bring options + a recommendation; we want ADVMFR's perspective before locking.

---

### 2.1 — Multi-language strategy: UK only, UK + US hreflang, or full multi-language?
**Three options on the table:**

| Option | Effort | Reach | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| **A — UK only, single-language site** (recommended Phase 1) | Lowest | Loses ~30% potential US/CA/MX organic | Lowest |
| **B — UK primary + US hreflang** (1 site, 2 spelling versions) | Medium (duplicate content management) | +30% reach | Medium — hreflang config sensitive |
| **C — Full multi-language** (e.g., add German, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish) | High (~5× content cost) | +200–400% reach in EU + JP markets | High — translation quality, ongoing maintenance |

**Our recommendation:** start with **Option A** for Phase 1. Re-evaluate at M6 once we see which geographies actually convert in the CRM. Add hreflang or languages then.

**Discussion question:** does ADVMFR have an existing language preference based on current client breakdown? Are German + Japanese clients overrepresented enough to justify dedicated content?

---

### 2.2 — Blog cadence and cluster sequencing
**The blog has 4 clusters and ~35 articles. We need to pick a publication rhythm.**

| Option | Frequency | First cluster | Total time |
|---|---|---|---|
| **A — 1 article per week, single cluster at a time** | 1/wk | Sustainability (lowest competitive risk) | ~8 months |
| **B — 1 article per week, rotating across clusters** (recommended) | 1/wk | Mix sourcing + process + sustainability | ~8 months |
| **C — 2 articles per week, all clusters in parallel** | 2/wk | All clusters | ~4 months |

**Our recommendation:** **Option B** — rotating clusters at 1/week. Faster topical authority signals (Google sees we cover the entire B2B fine jewellery space, not just one niche), and easier on writer fatigue.

**Discussion question:** does ADVMFR want to publish in seasonal sync with trade fairs (e.g., a wholesale sourcing piece 4 weeks before JCK Las Vegas)?

---

### 2.3 — Lead magnet on commercial pages — yes or no?
**The two highest-intent pages (`/wholesale-suppliers/` and `/oem-jewellery-manufacturer/`) can each gate a downloadable PDF behind an email form.**

**Pros:**
- Builds a marketing pipeline (data flows into Twenty CRM).
- Lowers commitment friction vs "Request a quote" form.
- Reusable in retargeting + email nurture.

**Cons:**
- Adds a friction layer between visitor and primary CTA (quote).
- Requires the PDFs to be genuinely valuable (8–12 pages, factory data, MOQ chart, case studies) — non-trivial writing effort.
- Email gates can hurt conversion rate if poorly designed.

**Options:**

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| **A — No lead magnet** (CTA = quote form only) | Simpler, faster launch |
| **B — Yes, on both pages** (recommended) | Two PDFs: "Wholesale catalogue" + "OEM capabilities deck" |
| **C — Yes, only on `/oem-jewellery-manufacturer/`** | OEM buyers are higher intent / longer sales cycle |

**Our recommendation:** **Option B** — both pages get a PDF. The added effort pays for itself within 6 months if Twenty CRM nurture is set up correctly.

**Discussion question:** does the marketing team have the bandwidth to design 2 PDFs in parallel with the page rewrite, or do we phase the PDF after the page launches?

---

### 2.4 — Geographic landing pages — yes or no?
**Should we build dedicated landing pages by region for buyers in UK, EU, US, Asia, India?**

**Pros:**
- Captures geographic long-tail (`wholesale jewellery supplier UK`, `OEM jewellery manufacturer Germany`, etc.).
- Better personalisation: shipping terms, regional payment, regional trade fairs.
- Stronger conversion signal: a UK buyer landing on "Wholesale Jewellery Suppliers — UK Brands" is reassured.

**Cons:**
- 5+ extra pages to maintain.
- Potential thin-content risk if the only difference is geography in the H1.
- Cannibalisation risk with `/wholesale-suppliers/` and `/oem-jewellery-manufacturer/`.

**Options:**

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| **A — No geo pages** (default) | Cleaner architecture |
| **B — One geo page per region** (UK / EU / US / Asia-Pacific) | 4 extra pages, written to be substantially different (regional case studies, regional shipping, etc.) |
| **C — Wait & see** (recommended) | Launch Phase 1 + Phase 2 without geo pages. Add them in M9 based on actual organic geography seen in GSC/Plausible. |

**Our recommendation:** **Option C**. Don't pre-build something we may discover is unnecessary.

---

### 2.5 — Schema priority: just `LocalBusiness` or full `Event` schema for trade fairs?
**`/news-events/` currently lists trade fairs as a flat page. We can enrich it.**

| Option | Description | Surface |
|---|---|---|
| **A — Minimal: `Article` schema only** | Cheapest, fastest | Standard SERP |
| **B — `ExhibitionEvent` schema per fair** (recommended) | Each fair gets structured data (date, location, exhibitor info) | Eligible for Google Events surface — visible to buyers searching "[fair name] exhibitors" |
| **C — Dedicated landing page per fair** | Maximum coverage | High effort, low keyword volume per fair |

**Our recommendation:** **Option B**. ExhibitionEvent is free real estate on Google's event panel and the work is one schema block per fair entry. Option C is overkill — fair-specific keyword volume is too low to justify dedicated pages.

---

### 2.6 — How visible should we be on the founder / leadership story?
**The "About us" page can play 3 different angles:**

| Option | Angle | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| **A — Heritage-only** (1989, German JV, family-run) | Corporate trust | Safe, timeless | Less personal, less SEO long-tail |
| **B — Founder-forward** (named founders, photos, current leadership) | Personality + EEAT signal | Strong trust signal for B2B buyers | Requires leadership availability + photos |
| **C — Hybrid** (recommended) | Heritage in H1 + leadership section H2 below | Best of both | Requires light commitment from leadership for 1 portrait + 1 quote each |

**Our recommendation:** **Option C**. EEAT (Experience-Expertise-Authoritativeness-Trustworthiness) signals from named, photographed humans help on both Google trust and on B2B buyer conviction.

**Discussion question:** does ADVMFR leadership want to be named publicly? Are there current portraits available?

---

### 2.7 — Backlink strategy — passive, active or paid?
**Authority depends on backlinks. Three approaches:**

| Option | Description | Cost | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| **A — Passive** | Submit to RJC member directory + trade fair listings + Google Business Profile. Wait for natural mentions. | Low | 12+ months |
| **B — Active outreach** (recommended) | Pitch guest articles + interviews to trade media (Jewellery Net Asia, Professional Jeweller, JCK Online, National Jeweler) | Medium (PR effort) | 6–9 months |
| **C — Paid (sponsored content / digital PR agency)** | Same outlets via paid placement | High | 3–6 months |

**Our recommendation:** **Option B** — start active outreach in Phase 3 (Month 6+), once we have 3–4 strong articles to pitch as authority anchors. Outreach without authority anchors fails.

**Discussion question:** does ADVMFR already have media relationships from 30 years of trade fair presence? If yes, this accelerates B drastically.

## 3. Format for the meeting

We propose to walk this document **section by section** rather than reading top-down. Discussion order:

1. **Decisions** (§1.1 → §1.6) — get the easy ones locked first.
2. **Brainstorming** (§2.1 → §2.7) — open discussion, document the choice with a sentence in the meeting notes.
3. **Action items** capture as we go — assign owner + due date for each.

**Time-box per item:** 3–5 minutes for decisions, 5–8 minutes for brainstorming items. Total ~60 minutes.

---

## 4. What we'll leave the meeting with

A version 1.1 of the master plan with:
- All 6 decisions in §1 marked CONFIRMED / DEFERRED.
- All 7 brainstorming options in §2 marked with a CHOSEN option + rationale.
- A new file `06-meeting-outcomes.md` capturing every action item with owner + due date.
- A Plane backlog seeded with Phase 1 P0 + P1 work items, assigned and dated.
