# Photo requirements — Home page & Events page

Answers to Home Page Notes #13 ("How we Work: give me size requirement of photos") and #14
("Give me photo requirement of Gallery"), plus the one photo missing on the Events page.

All measurements below come from the live layout (`max-width 1440px` container, 64px side
margins → 1312px of usable width on desktop). Sizes are given for high-density (Retina, 2×)
screens, which is what the site is optimised for. Larger is fine — we downscale automatically —
but smaller than the minimum will look soft.

**Format: every photo must be delivered as WebP (AVIF is fine too). JPEG and PNG files will be
sent back.** Export straight from Photoshop/Lightroom/Affinity (all support WebP), or batch-convert
with a free tool such as Squoosh (squoosh.app) or XnConvert.

## General rules (all sections)

## 1. "How We Work" — 6 step photos (Home #13)

Layout: 3 columns on desktop, 2 on tablet, 1 on mobile. Every frame is a **4:3 landscape**
at every screen size, so a 4:3 photo is shown **whole, never cropped**.

Steps (keep the same subjects if you can — they match the captions):

1. Design Review & Feasibility — sketching / reviewing drawings
2. CAD Development — CAD on screen
3. Prototype & Sampling — a sample or prototype piece
4. Production — casting / wax injection / bench work
5. Quality Control — inspection or polishing
6. Worldwide Shipping — packing or the factory building

Tips: consistent lighting and colour temperature across the six shots (they sit side by side);
keep the main subject in the middle of the frame; a hover zoom (+5 %) is applied, so leave a
little breathing room around the edges.

## 2. Gallery slideshow — 12 photos (Home #14)

Layout: one wide frame, **21:9 on tablet/desktop** (1312 × 562 px on screen) and **4:3 on
phones**. The same file is used for both: on phones the frame is cropped to the **centre
57 %** of the width. So the jewellery must sit in the middle of the picture.

| Safe zone | Keep every piece inside the **central 57 % of the width** (the outer ~21 % on each side is cropped on phones). Full height is always visible. |

Content guidance: clean, high-key studio shots on a white / very light background (the frame
sits on a light-grey band); a mix of categories — rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets,
chains, hoops — and of metals (yellow / rose / white gold, silver); one hero piece or set per
photo rather than busy flat-lays; the slideshow auto-plays, so avoid photos that need reading
time. Send them numbered in the order you want them to play (`gallery-01…12`).

If a 21:9 export is awkward, send the **full-resolution original (≥ 3500 px wide, WebP)** with
the jewellery centred and we will crop to 21:9 ourselves.

## 3. Events page — 1 missing photo (JCK Las Vegas)

The new JCK Las Vegas entry currently reuses one of the existing booth photos as a
placeholder. Each event frame is **16:9 on desktop** (≈ 610 × 343 px on screen) and **4:3 on
phones** (centre crop, central 75 % of the width). Photos are shown in black-and-white and
turn to colour on hover.

## 4. Already received — nothing more needed

- **Advance logo** (SVG from Dropbox) — placed in the header next to the wordmark.
- **RJC certificate** (PDF from Dropbox) — the PDF was enough: the artwork inside it is a
  1253 × 800 px image, which we extracted and placed on the Home page. No JPEG needed.
- **Social icons** (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn — Home #18): still pending from you.
  SVG required (single colour, square artboard, e.g. 24 × 24). No PNG/JPEG.
